What brings a Porsche into the shop
Cooling system
Water pumps and coolant pipes, including the plastic coolant pipes in the engine valley of early Cayenne V8s.
IMS bearing
Intermediate shaft bearing inspection on the 996 and early 997 911 and the Boxster and Cayman engines of the same era — worth doing whenever the clutch is out.
Air suspension
Air springs and compressors on the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera.
Brakes
Pads and rotors on the Cayenne and Macan, which wear through both faster than most owners expect.
PDK
PDK transmission fluid service on its schedule.
Servicing a Porsche properly
Porsche specifies its own oil approvals — A40 on most petrol engines — and the intervals vary a lot by model and year. We service to the approval and the schedule your car actually has, not a generic one.
A Porsche in a Regina winter
A lot of Porsches in Regina are stored for the winter. Before storage: fresh oil, a full tank with stabiliser, a battery maintainer and tires at the right pressure. In spring we check for rodent damage and for brakes that have rusted over while the car sat.

Porsche questions
Do you prepare cars for winter storage and bring them back in spring?
Yes. Oil, fuel stabiliser, battery maintainer and tire pressures going in; a full check for rodent damage, brakes and fluids coming out.
Should I worry about the IMS bearing?
On the affected 996, early 997, Boxster and Cayman engines it is worth inspecting, especially when the clutch is being replaced. Later cars use a different design.
Do you service the Cayenne and Macan?
Yes — they make up most of the Porsches we see, along with the occasional 911 in summer.
